A regional contact point for carers who require support & respite services to assist them in their caring role, in the Southern region of Melbourne. The service also provides information about local aged and disability services to assist people to live independently in their own home. Carer support services are available from 8.30am-5.00pm weekdays, including an urgent response 24 hours a day, by phoning Freecall 1800 059 059. This service provides emotional support to carers, assists them to make informed choices about their caring and support needs, and can arrange access to respite services tailored to meet their needs and the person they care for. The community information and referral service is available from 8.30am-5.00pm on weekdays by phoning Freecall 1800 052 222. This service is aimed at people living at home alone, general practitioners, service providers and students who require information about community aged care, disability and other support services.

I'm a single mum to a 10 yr old boy, Zayden.
We live in Melton, which is in the west of Melbourne.
I urgently require assistance.
Food vouchers would be absolutely ideal and a petrol voucher.
I have to drive my son to and from school.
He is back from school camp today and my registration was due the day he left for camp. Another $100+ I just don't have.
Once my rent is paid there isn't enough left to survive.
This week is extra tough.
Once bills are direct debited I'm lucky to get food for a few days.
I have no family to get help from and zaydens dad doesn't support zayden at all.
Every time I ask for help from places locally I have to be assessed and it's so much stress going through all your troubles being advised to see financial advisers. It's so depressing going through the same thing each time.
I keep getting referred to Orange Door. They seem to help everyone else I've spoken to without having to relive and go thru your depressing present reasons why you require help quite indepth they go. Which is too stressful.
They have left me without assistance on a friday left me with no help because I'd spoken to more than 1 person there they were confused and just left me with nothing.
My phone is playing up so can't receive calls always so they just didn't send vouchers they'd told me they were sending..
It's just so stressful having to explain your story all the time.
