The Palliative Care Unit offers services in an integrated programme with the Community Palliative Care Service and the Hospice Care Association of Southern Tasmania Inc. It provides care to patients with life limiting illness in conjunction with the Community Palliative Care Service, focusing on quality of life, symptom control, comfort, dignity, and psychosocial support to the family/friends during the inpatient stay and through bereavement. Community Palliative Care Service provides support to clients with a life limiting illness in the home, nursing home or another health care facility with advice, consultancy, education and equipment.
