Provides short term accommodation, in the Wollongong area, to families in crisis. Emergency housing for 6 months, and rent is 25 - 30% of household income depending on the property. Case management is provided by support workers to assist families to address any needs they may have such as, financial issues, health problems, counselling or specialist children's needs. Provides emotional and practical support to assist families to effectively relocate to alternative longer term housing in the broader community. Referral by appointment. For emergencies after hours call Lifeline 131 114. Privacy, confidentiality and informed consent part of client rights. Support also involves actively seeking options for alternative housing in the community. Not a brokerage service but will help people access the practical support they need. Takes clients from the Shellharbour/Kiama area but only has property in the Wollongong area.

I’m currently in treatment at canarven street and I have been working for over a year now and it’s difficult to get to the chemist on time and to see anyone at canarven street because of my work hours, I have been put on daily pick ups until 30/11/2022 when I do a test. This was changed from weekly to daily because I came in and did a sample and it wasn’t registering a temperature or anything in my sample including methadone which is impossible so my worker assumed that I was trying it on somehow and put me on daily pick ups. It was definitely a faulty test and because I didn’t hang around to do another one, she thought the worst, I understand why but I’m working away soon and I will need a 3-4 day take out but can’t get hold of my worker no matter how many messages I leave she is always busy and never calls me back so what can I do??? I’m working away in Belfast this month
