A scheme for administration of that person's livelihood - finances, health, accommodation and day to day care. Application for guardianship can be made by a near relative or person providing substantial care to the person with a disability. A delegate from The Public Guardian is also able to apply(indigenous person, no family). Adult Guardianship in Darwin provide a service to the Top End of the NT and also represent clients in court. They have an office in Alice Springs which services the central part of the NT.
