Residential Respite Booking Service

Residential respite provides temporary care for clients who intend to return to the community. The Residential Respite Booking Service provides information on the various care facilities, and processes the bookings. Residential Respite is available for up to 63 days in any financial year to people who have been assessed as eligible by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) and have a current ACAT approval for residential respite care. The booking service is free, however, there is a fee for each day of respite, currently $32.95 per day. Financial assistance may be available to clients who are unable to afford respite.

The Aboriginal Flexible Respite Program in DADHC's Western Region helps Aboriginal families to continue caring for their family member with a disability. The program aims to provide culturally appropriate support to clients and their families. A funding package can be used to provide assitance for you, the person you care for or your family to continue caring for a person with a disability. Antyhing that will provide a rest from your caring responsibilities will be considered. It might be a short break each week for you, or a longer break for the whole family. The assistance might be regular in-home support or recreational activities for the person with a disability. The main purpose of the program is that you, as the carer, have some time out from your day to day responsibilities and have the opportunity to do something for yourself.
